Sisters, Sofia, Sonia and Sandra, were always close growing up. But if someone had told them they would be running a business together one day, they surely wouldn’t have believed it! Their love of baking definitely began when they were young. They often baked cookies and cakes with their mother, experimented with different recipes, read cook books, and created scrumptious desserts for their Sunday lunches with the family, an Italian tradition in their home.
Within time, Sonia and Sandra began baking novelty cakes for family and friends, adding an even more creative element to their baking. They both attended college, and after successful careers in marketing, Sonia and Sandra decided that they wanted to open up their own cake shop. They attended The French Culinary Institute in New York City, graduated with honors, and are now both pastry chefs. They opened the door to The Cake Boutique in 2004. After eight years on Wall Street, older sister Sofia joined the team in 2005. She manages the shop’s sales and marketing endeavors.
